Meet

Mackenzy Metcalfe

I am running for USC Vice-President External Affairs because I believe in the power of student voices.

I am proud of the work I have done with the USC, in Western and in the London community. Throughout my four years I have volunteered on local and national election campaigns, written policy papers, represented our school at the provincial level, met with local members of parliament, and ensured our presence is felt municipally in City Council.

When it came time to take the next step, declaring my candidacy for Vice-President External Affairs for the USC was a thought out, but logical decision.

I believe in a future where every voice matters, every student has access to post-secondary education and feels supported by their university and their community.

After all, the journey of 1000 miles starts with the first step, I am ready to take these steps for the students of Western.

Why Your Vote Counts

March 8, 2020

USC Councillors have a chance to shape the direction of external advocacy at the USC on Sunday, March 8th by voting for both USC Vice-President Internal and External Affairs.

The USC Vice-President External Affairs will lead all USC’s external advocacy and government relations, meeting with federal, provincial and municipal leaders to advocate on behalf of Western students. This position also works with other provincial and federal advocacy, including the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance to ensure that we create accessible, affordable, accountable and high-quality post-secondary education in Ontario.

Not a USC Councillor? Message your elected representative and let them know that you want Mackenzy to represent you in the USC’s external advocacy.
